This blog is basically memorabilia; filled with reminiscences, stories, poetry, and more recently, guidelines for my students.
I am first and foremost a teacher. And will always remain that no matter where I am.
The second love of my life is writing. However, I cannot restrict myself to a specific topic or a period in time. I write when I wish and what I wish. I write for pleasure. And for reflection. Having taught for so long, and having lived even longer, I feel that in every person there is a demon and an angel. And life is never black or white. There are grey shades; pink, purple, yellow and green shades; blue and red too!
( My students will surely understand what I mean :)
The art is to merge all these colours and weave a way through them so that the only colur that emerges from the intricate maze of life is ' your' colour. That is your identity, your faith, your destiny. That is who you are, what you are. Value it. Guard it. Cherish it.
Be kind to people. Remember... 'Tenderness and Kindness are not signs of weakness and despair, but manifestations of strength and resolution.' ( Kahlil Gibran)
And no matter how high your achievements are, never forget that being 'humane' is the best achievement and being 'humble' is the best quality.
My all-time favourite Kahlil Gibran says...
'Keep me from the wisdom that does not weep, and the philosophy that does not laugh, and the pride that does not bow its head before a child.'
I am still learning.
And I hope that all of you who read me, will learn too.
